Being an absolute fan of music, I am always on the prowl for great tunes, beautiful recordings and stunning music, with preferably a big dynamic in it. I love when music can be almost as silent as a whisper and then climb up to a mountain of sound... just to fall back down to the ambient sounds of a small brook. Just to give you an idea of how I love to listen to music.

I think it was around 1986 that I started to look around in Hifi shops to find a new stereo set. My then future wife and I had just entered our first apartment to live together and with that new era I felt a new stereo set was in order.

Music had been important to me ever since I was able to work out how the big old Philips table-radio from my dad worked. As you can see on the picture here it had two speakers on the side. It is still with me, it's over 60 years old and still runs, although there is less and less to be received in these digital times. This tube-operated radio has MW , KG , LW and FM. Only FM has an occasional station that can be received. Nonetheless it started my pasion for music.

After running my own shop for several years, which I had to shut down due to a rather annoying global pandemic, the domain and website have been offline for quite some time now. Recently, I decided to revive the domain name and create a blog website that lives up to its name—it offers sound advice. :)

Nothing is more personal then sound and when it comes to setting your speakers to the proper levels there is a lot of discussion out there on how to do this and which method is best.
